Fresh Flower Arranging Basics- Advanced Level

Lecture Topics:

• Contemporary design fundamentals, and other contemporary design styles such as, Bento, Biedermeier, or Minimalist.
• The importance of the design basic principles of Lines, Flow, visual weight, asymmetry, and letting the flowers or vessel "talk"
• Incorporating found object items such as seashells, palm wood, driftwood or pods.
• Adapting non-traditional objects as vessels correctly ie: lining, distributing weight and securing florals.

Demonstration:

• Introduction to new tools: Floral stapler, floral knife, and greening pins.
• Instructor will demonstrate several different techniques in manipulating foliages, specifically Ti and Flax leaves.
• Images of examples of contemporary designs will be viewed via Pinterest to show how many ways "contemporary design" can be interperated. 
• Instructior will demonstrate a smaller tropical arrangement that students will have assistance creating on their own.

Hands On Project-Contemporary Tropical Arrangement:

• Hands on pratice with maniputaing Ti and Flax leaves
• Students will create a unique contemporary design with container and florals provided. Note: Should the elements chosen by the instructor not be to your color or decor style-additional flowers or container substitution will be avaliable for an additional charge. See Below for day of discounts.

Wrap up:

• Compare how everyone's arrangement is slightly diffferent using the same product.
• Brush up on how to care for your arrangement and make it last.

Materials-Apron, basic tools, flowers, foam, container, supplies. We will have extra floral pruners/sheers, wire cutters, and ribbon shears for purchase.
