Farm to the Center of Your Table

Lecture Topics:

• Discuss "Thinking outside the box" for selection of florals and fruits or vegetables that compliment or contast with color or texture.
• Where to look and how to select the perfect fruits, vegetables or vines to create a beautiful and interesting composition. 
• View images on Pinterest to display different approaches, color palettes and ideas.
• Use the Floret Flower book as visual aide to show interesting combinations throughout the seasons.
• Discuss venues and occasions that this type of arrangement could be used.

Demonstration: 

• Instructor will have several example arrangements avaliable to view and discuss choices of flowers with fruits and veggies, mechanics/construction, and reason for specific container choice on each arangement.
• Students will view flowers and fruits selected for class and watch as designer puts together possible combinations to inspire ideas for the arrangement.
• Instructor will demo how to create the arrangement students will create and take home.

Hands On:

• Students will be able to select from a variety of fruits, vegetables, vines and flowers to create their one of a kind piece.
• Packing containers provided with oasis foam.
• During this portion of the class you will create an arrangement using provided florals, fruits/veggies and container with assistance from the Instructor. If the provided florals, container, etc are not to your taste or liking there is an opportunity to substitute for an additional charge. See discounts offered day of below.

Wrap-Up:

• Instruction on proper care for longest life of floral arrangement.
• Comments on each piece, how unique they are, how each person chose different items.
